The Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) for Pasangkayu Regency held a Coordination Meeting (Rakor) and Evaluation of the Baseline Survey for Monitoring and Evaluation of the 2025 Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) at the Pasangkayu BPS Office Hall on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The meeting, attended by representatives from the Pasangkayu Regency Bapperida (Regional Development Planning Agency), the Food Security Office, and the Education and Sports Office, focused on coordination and enhancing collaboration for this national strategic program.
The Coordination Meeting commenced at 08:30 WITA with opening remarks by the Acting Head of Pasangkayu Regency BPS, followed by presentations from the Technical Team and the Administration Team of Pasangkayu Regency BPS.
In the discussion session, the Pasangkayu Regency Bapperida expressed high optimism regarding the program. Bapperida conveyed its hope that the MBG program could significantly reduce the stunting rate in West Sulawesi, especially in Pasangkayu. This aligns with the program's targets, which specifically focus on pregnant women (bumil) and toddlers (balita).
During the discussion, the Education and Sports Office emphasized the importance of continuous evaluation. They suggested that this coordination meeting should not be a single event, but that a special team for evaluation needed to be formed, and channels for participation from students' parents should be opened.
"The information from you all is quite good regarding the situation in Pasangkayu Regency, as supplementary reports on the phenomena of MBG implementation in Pasangkayu. The BPS's main task (Tupoksi) is to carry out monitoring and evaluation through surveys to observe the impact of MBG on households and other aspects. We have already held an MBG coordination meeting with the West Sulawesi Provincial BPS, where the National Nutrition Agency (BGN Sulbar) was also present. There was much input from the BGN regarding MBG implementation. The implementation of MBG needs to be overseen further. We (BPS) oversee MBG through surveys and perform our duties in accordance with our main function," stated M.S. Alim Sudiasto, the Acting Head of Pasangkayu Regency BPS.
The Coordination Meeting concluded that strengthening coordination and improving the quality of implementation in the field are the top priorities. All parties are committed to following up on the issues raised to ensure the success of the 2025 MBG program.
