To get an overview of farmers' living conditions, the Statistics Agency (BPS) of Pasangkayu Regency is currently conducting the 2025 Farmer Welfare Survey (SKP). This survey is designed to measure the level of farmer welfare not only from the income aspect but also from various other important aspects that affect their quality of life.

As one of the main pillars of the economy in Pasangkayu Regency, the agricultural sector plays a strategic role in regional development and labor absorption. Therefore, the government needs to pay special attention to farmers as its main drivers, one of which is through effective and well-targeted policies.

The Acting Head of BPS Pasangkayu Regency, Alim Sudiasto, stated that the SKP 2025 is being conducted to provide more comprehensive data.

"So far, we have often measured farmer welfare from an economic perspective through the Farmer's Terms of Trade. However, through the SKP 2025, we want to look at it from a multidimensional perspective," he said. "The data we collect will form the basis for compiling the Farmer Welfare Index at the Regency level."

BPS field officers will visit sampled farmer households to collect data covering six main dimensions: income and resources, education, health, decent living standards, food and nutrition security, and risk mitigation. The results of this survey are expected to provide input for the Pasangkayu Regency Regional Government in designing more holistic intervention programs, not only to increase farmers' income but also the quality of their education, health, and social resilience.
