BPS Pasangkayu Follows Internalization for Sectoral Statistical Synergy

January 15, 2025 | Other Activities

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Pasangkayu participated in the Internalization of Sectoral Statistics Development activities which were held as part of efforts to improve coordination and quality of sectoral statistics in Indonesia. This event was held by BPS West Sulawesi Province online and was held on January 13-15 2025.

This activity aims to strengthen understanding of the role of sectoral statistical development, especially in supporting the implementation of the National Statistical System (SSN). Apart from that, this event is also an opportunity to build synergy between BPS and other agencies in producing relevant and quality data.

In her remarks, Head of BPS West Sulawesi Province Tina Wahyufitri emphasized the importance of sectoral statistics in providing thematic data needed for policy formulation in various sectors. "Developing sectoral statistics is a strategic step to ensure that all data produced by various institutions remains integrated with the SSN framework. Collaboration is the key to success," said Tina.

The material presented in this activity includes procedures for compiling statistical metadata, managing digital-based sectoral data, as well as simulating the application of sectoral statistical principles in the field. Interactive discussions and case studies were also conducted to strengthen participants' understanding of the implementation of quality sectoral statistics.

This activity is expected to strengthen collaboration between agencies and ensure that every sectoral data produced meets the principles of accuracy, relevance and consistency. BPS is committed to continuing to support improving the quality of sectoral statistics as part of strengthening the SSN.
