Abstract

  • In March 2024, the level of expenditure inequality among the population of Sulawesi Barat Province as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.354. This figure decreased by 0.003 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.456, an increase of 0.004 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023 which was 0.452. Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.303, a decrease of 0.005 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023.
  • In March 2024, the expenditure distribution for the bottom 40 percent of the population will be 19.38 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low inequality level category. If broken down by region, in urban areas, the figure was recorded at 15.36 percent, which means it is in the moderate inequality category. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 21.24 percent, which means it is in the low inequality category.
