September 2024: Level of Population Expenditure Inequality in Sulawesi Barat was 0.330

Abstract

In September 2024, the level of inequality in the expenditure of the population of Sulawesi Barat Province as measured by the Gini Ratio was recorded at 0.330. This figure decreased by 0.024 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024.
The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.404, down by 0.052 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024 which was 0.456.
Meanwhile, the Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2024 was recorded at 0.296, down by 0.007 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2024.
In September 2024, the distribution of expenditure for the bottom 40 percent of the population was 20.26 percent. This means that population expenditure is still in the low inequality category. If broken down by region, in urban areas, the figure was recorded at 16.20 percent, which means it is in the moderate inequality category.
Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 21.63 percent, which means it falls into the low inequality category.
