Sakernas Officer Training February 2025: Strengthening Field Officer Competence

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is holding National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) training which aims to improve the understanding and skills of field officers in collecting accurate and reliable employment data. This activity was carried out for 4 days in a hybrid manner on 16-21 January 2025, 3 days carried out online and 1 day carried out offline at the Multazam Pasangkayu Hotel and attended by BPS Pasangkayu partners as field enumerators and BPS organic employees as field supervisors.

In her opening remarks, Head of BPS Chitra Dewi Said emphasized the importance of Sakernas as a strategic survey to produce employment data which is the basis for formulating government policies. "This training is key to ensuring the quality of the data we produce. Field officers are the front guard in this survey," said Chitra.

The training material covers various technical aspects, starting from understanding the concept and definition of employment, effective interview procedures, to simulating filling out the CAPI questionnaire. Participants are also given the opportunity to discuss directly with regional instructors to solve problems that may arise in the field.

This activity is expected to strengthen the competence of field officers so that the results of Sakernas can provide an accurate picture of employment conditions in Indonesia. Thus, BPS continues to strive to support quality and targeted data-based policy making.

This training closed with an evaluation and delivery of a motivational message, creating new enthusiasm for the participants in carrying out survey tasks in their respective work areas.
