Entering November (Quarter IV), BPS is once again conducting the quarterly SERUTI survey. This activity is carried out from November 16 to 30, 2024. The SERUTI survey aims to support the provision of quarterly household economic indicators. The household samples in the Quarter IV SERUTI survey are panel households from the previous quarter or households successfully surveyed in the previous quarter (Quarter III).
Several variables collected in the SERUTI survey include the quantity and value of consumption, expenditure, income, receipts, asset and liability positions, as well as perceptions of household economic conditions.
Field enumerators (PCL) for the quarterly SERUTI survey are BPS Pasangkayu’s partners tasked with interviewing selected panel households for the quarter. While working in the field, PCLs are accompanied by supervisors (PML) from BPS Pasangkayu’s organic staff to ensure the implementation of tasks and field organizational functions align with established regulations, procedures, and standards.
The Head of BPS Pasangkayu, Chitra Dewi Said, in her remarks during the monitoring and evaluation meeting for the Quarter IV SERUTI field operations, emphasized that the quarterly SERUTI data collection is crucial for gaining a deeper understanding of the public’s needs. “The data we collect will serve as the foundation for formulating well-targeted policies,” Chitra stated.
On this occasion, Chitra also delivered a message to the field officers of the Quarter IV SERUTI survey to maintain their enthusiasm until the end of the data collection period. “Dear colleagues, data collection is the cornerstone for BPS in providing high-quality statistics. Let’s uphold our spirit and professionalism while ensuring the confidentiality of respondents' data,” Chitra asserted.
The results of the Quarter IV SERUTI survey will serve as a vital reference for the government and stakeholders in designing future policies to support sustainable development.
