BPS Pasangkayu Implements Identification of the Needs of Beautiful Villages in Malei Village

One of the activities implemented by BPS in 2024 is the Beautiful Village Development Program, which is also known as CANTIK Village (Love Statistics). This program aims to develop sectoral statistics at the village level in a sustainable and comprehensive manner. A similar program was implemented in 2023 and will continue in 2024.

Previously, the Pasangkayu Regency Government together with the BPS of Pasangkayu Regency had declared Malei Village as a village of Love Statistics. Next, BPS Pasangkayu Regency held an Exposure and Needs Identification Activity in Malei Village. This activity was carried out at the Malei Village office on Thursday (01/08/2024).

The opening of this presentation was delivered directly by the head of BPS Pasangkayu Regency, Chitra Dewi Said.

Based on Law no. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages and Presidential Regulation no. 39 of 2019 concerning One Indonesian Data, the role of villages as the smallest regional units is very important.

The Head of BPS Pasangkayu Regency conveyed how important collective support from various parties is in realizing the success of the Beautiful Village program. Not only is BPS the main sector in developing statistics, but also active involvement from the central government, regional government, village government and local communities is very necessary.

"With support and cooperation from all parties, it is hoped that this program will be able to run successfully, make a significant contribution to Indonesia's development, and make villages a better place through managing existing data and potential," he explained.

He added, "Currently villages are no longer objects of development but have become the subject and spearhead of development in improving community welfare. Development policies in villages can be more targeted and more beneficial to the community by being based on complete and accurate data.

"With this Beautiful Village program, it is hoped that the statistical capabilities of village officials will be improved, village data management will be of better quality, and villages will be able to make decisions based on data," he added.

After completing the exposure and identification activities, it is planned that coaching will be carried out for Beautiful Village Trustees in 2024. The next coaching is planned to be held in August to October 2024 in stages and systematically.
