On Tuesday (April 21), the Head of BPS Pasangkayu, Hirlan Khaeri, attended a meeting to prepare the Accountability Report (LKPJ) for Pasangkayu Regency. The meeting, held in the DPRD's Aspiration Meeting Room, was also attended by the 2025 LKPJ Preparation Team and several relevant Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPDs) within the Regional Government. During the meeting, the Head of BPS provided his comments regarding the preparation of the annual report on regional government administration, which will be submitted to the Pasangkayu Regency DPRD.
BPS's presence at the forum was considered crucial, particularly in providing and validating macro-indicator data for regional development. In his presentation, Hirlan outlined several macro-indicators in Pasangkayu that serve as benchmarks for successful governance. Close collaboration between statistical data providers and policymakers is considered the primary foundation for a measurable, accurate, and objective evaluation of Pasangkayu Regency's performance in 2025.
Furthermore, Hirlan highlighted the importance of the quality of regional economic growth. "High growth does not automatically mean inclusive. What determines it is how widely capital circulates—whether it is concentrated among a handful of actors or reaches many levels of society," he explained. He also emphasized the importance of assessing the depth of the multiplier impact of this capital influx on employment, household income, and local purchasing power, as well as whether it boosts local capacity or simply drains resources without creating added value for the region.
The importance of the Statistics Indonesia (BPS)'s role has also received appreciation from the legislature. The Deputy Speaker of the Pasangkayu Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Muh. Dasri, emphasized that BPS data support is essential for the council in evaluating development. "BPS's presence at this LKPJ meeting is crucial. We in the council need objective and validated data on macro-indicators of Pasangkayu regional development," he said.
