BPS Pasangkayu Attends TPID Meeting, Synergizes with Regional Governments to Control Inflation

September 18, 2025 | Other Activities

On Thursday (September 18th), the Pasangkayu Regency Government held a coordination meeting to discuss strategies for controlling regional inflation.

During the meeting, data analysis from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) showed that the dynamics of the Price Development Index (IPH) throughout 2025 were significantly influenced by the price volatility of key food commodities.

According to BPS's presentation, the trend in the Pasangkayu IPH showed significant fluctuations. Commodities such as rice, cayenne pepper, and shallots were identified as the main causes of the spike in inflation that occurred mid-year. Meanwhile, price declines in the same commodity groups also triggered the sharp deflation recorded in August.

"Price dynamics in Pasangkayu Regency in 2025 were significantly influenced by price fluctuations in key food commodities, particularly rice, cayenne pepper, and shallots. These commodities were the main cause of high inflation in mid-year and also triggered the sharp deflation in August. Price stability in these commodity groups is key to controlling the IPH in Pasangkayu," stated Suriadi, a representative of BPS Pasangkayu, at the TPID meeting.

This meeting fostered closer coordination between BPS and local governments to formulate more targeted inflation control measures. Could you please elaborate on this narrative?
