The Village Potential (PODES) survey is a comprehensive data collection activity at the village level conducted by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This activity aims to gather data on the potential and conditions of infrastructure, social aspects, the economy, and resources in every village or urban area across Indonesia. PODES is conducted periodically, typically every three years, as part of the preparation for the 2026 Economic Census and to provide the government with the data needed for development planning and policy-making.
In the PODES data collection process, field officers consist of Field Supervisors (PML) and Field Enumerators (PCL). Before PML and PCL are deployed to the field, the PODES Committee of BPS Pasangkayu District conducted a five-day training session. This training included two days of self-study, two days of online training, and one day of offline training held in the Nearly Hotel auditorium. The training session was opened and closed by the Head of BPS Pasangkayu District. This series of events took place from April 22 to April 26, 2024.
The PODES data collection process for Pasangkayu District will be carried out from May 2 to May 31, 2024. It is highly expected that the data collected by the field officers will align with the objectives of the 2024 PODES activity. The accuracy and quality of the data will serve as a reference and consideration in making decisions and policies at the national level.
